COURSE TOPICS
Anterior Aesthetics: Digital Smile Design & Bonded Functional Esthetic Prototypes – Akshay Vij, BDS, ACT
This lecture provides a brief overview of the clinical workflow for anterior esthetic cases using the Photoshop Smile Design (PSD) technique to improve diagnosis and interdisciplinary treatment planning and coordination. An overview of the Bonded Functional Esthetic Prototype (BFEP) technique to fabricate long‑ term provisionals will also be provided.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss how Photoshop Smile Design (PSD) helps digitally design a smile, improves case acceptance, and facilitates interdisciplinary treatment planning with other specialists and dental laboratories.
- Describe the use of the Bonded Functional Esthetic Protoype (BFEP) technique for long-term provisionals.
- Describe the clinical workflow for anterior esthetic cases.
Anticoagulant Management in Dentistry – Robert Reti, DDS
This lecture provides participants with an understanding of anticoagulants, including their indications and methods of action. Participants will also be updated on the classes of anticoagulants (including the new direct acting oral anticoagulants) and how to safely manage patients who use these medications. In addition, the latest research on managing surgical dental bleeding will be provided.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Use current information on blood thinner medications and indications for effective patient care.
- Identify best practices for the management of blood thinning medication.
- Identify best practices for the management of post-operative dental bleeding.
