Course Description
The purpose of this course is to bridge the gap from passive intervention to patient active rehabilitation and self management. Using the principles of PNF applied to the Orthopedic patient you will gain skill in designing truly therapeutic exercise from the early stage of an episode of care to discharge and beyond.
Day 1 will be taught by Michael Moore and will focus on applying PNF principles and techniques for the patient who is ready to transfer from passive intervention to patient active therapist guided techniques. You will develop skills in leveraging the patients neuromuscular system to give them the ability to change their own symptoms preparing for self directed exercise.
Day 2 will be taught by Tim Fearon and will focus on the transition from Day 1’s activities to truly patient directed activities for management of their own symptoms enabling them to drive towards independence
