Course Description: Do you want to know the what medical teams at the Olympics, Professional and Collegiate teams, even the International Space Station, are using to give them an edge in treatment? A.T. Still University is presenting an introductory two-part seminar in clinical applications of using musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging. The morning session will cover introduction to musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and pathology as well as a live demonstration of selected anatomical sites. The afternoon session will include lives scanning and lectures on the US instrumentation and physics, image optimization, how to scan commonly treated joints and the lumbar spine, identification of tendons, nerves, muscles, and ligaments.
1. Introduce the participants to ultrasound musculoskeletal images
2. Explain US physics and instrumentation of US equipment.
3. Identify when Sonography is indicated to assist in managing common conditions.
4. Understand what information can be derived from Sonography.
5. Be able to perform an ultrasound assessment on selected anatomical structures.
CEU: Participants are awarded 0.7 CEUs or 7 contact hours at the end of the course.
Cost: $175 APTA members; $150 for non ATSU Alumni and Clinical Instructors
ATSU Physical Therapy Department is qualified to provide physical therapist continuing education courses and activities according to the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy (Rule R4-24-402).
CEU courses and other post-professional programs offered at ATSU are not associated with the CAPTE accredited residential Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
